The Fun Continues for 14 More Days!

What a weekend! If you had a blast at the National Folk Festival, fear not, because 17 Days has just begun! While the National Folk Festival kicked off the beginning of the annual 17 Days Festival this past weekend, there is plenty more in store through the 27th of this month.

This traditional celebration of arts and culture in Greensboro is jam-packed with events for everyone in town. In fact, there are more than 100 events scheduled during the two and a half week long festival! Now that’s a lot of fun!

What are you most excited for in the remaining 14 days? If you haven’t seen it already, be sure to check out “Rise Together Greensboro”. You may or may not know someone who has donated a ladder of theirs to this project. Artist Charlie Brouwer has constructed this temporary work of art in Downtown Greensboro, each ladder representing the hopes and dreams of part of our community. When you connect all the ladders together, it creates a system of support, just like a community. If you’ve donated a ladder, be sure to check out your name on the “List of Ladder Lenders” at the exhibit or online at risetogethergreensboro.org. Be sure to stop by the Tanger Performing Art Center building site, on Lindsay St between Summit Ave. & Elm St., to see this unique project come to life!

Something else to look out for in the remaining days of the festival is Greensboro Fashion Week! It will run from the 16th to the 19th, spotlighting local designers and retailers from right here in the Triad. Featured events include a meet and greet, an emerging designers show, and much more! Be sure to stay up to date on Fashion Week events online and on your mobile app!

These are just a few of the happenings to look forward to in the next 14 days! Don’t forget to head over to City Market downtown on the 17th and Stonefield Cellars Winery to learn “The Art of Wine Tasting” on the 18th!

We can’t wait to see you out and about!
