Hello and happy weekend to all! My name is Mackenzie and I am the new intern here at the Greensboro CVB. Currently I’m studying Human Relations at High Point University, and here I have the pleasure of working with the marketing & services departments. Reality is hitting hard as graduation approaches, but I couldn’t be more excited to spend my last semester learning about the phenomenal city of Greensboro, NC!
Considering I am originally from Connecticut, I was pleased to find out that April is North Carolina Beer Month! As we get into the more intense “winter” I can’t help but look forward to spring time. What better way to welcome spring than kicking it off with beer month & enjoying local breweries!
This past week I was able to learn and hear from a few breweries full of unique character, excellent products, and exciting events to come!
The first was Natty Greene’s Brewing Company. They officially opened back in 2004 but haven’t stopped expanding. In 2007, they started distributing their beer throughout North Carolina. Beyond that, they have an exciting project in the near future. Natty Greene’s will be opening their very own Kitchen + Market located at the Revolution Mill. This exciting location will welcome all and take us back in time with features such as The Butcher, The Baker and The Beer Maker!
Next on my adventure was a stop at Preyer Brewing Company. Located right by the Grasshopper stadium, this place is a true treat. As you walk in, you are filled with love from this family owned and operated place. The aesthetics are incredible, it’s warm and inviting and simply makes you feel right at home. Be sure to check out their “Trivia Tuesdays” and other exciting events to come!
I’d say my first few weeks here have been pretty darn good! Exploring Greensboro and learning about local attractions was a delight. April will be here before we know it; be on the lookout for awesome events to celebrate North Carolina Beer Month with your favorite local breweries: Natty Greene’s & Preyer Brewing Company!
